Joel Harrison is an elite whisky writer and presenter, and one of the world’s leading authorities on fine spirits, with nearly two decades at the forefront of whisky and global drinks culture. He is the Spirits Correspondent for The Times, writing a regular column covering spirits, whisky and cocktail culture, and a monthly contributor to World of Fine Spirits.

In 2026, he was named Icons of Whisky Global Communicator of the Year and Drinks Writer of the Year at the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards, becoming the only person ever to win both awards in a single year.

 

A published author of multiple award-winning books on whisky, fine spirits and cocktails, translated into 17 languages, Joel also writes for titles including The Telegraph, Decanter, and Club Oenologique.

Beyond print, he is an experienced broadcaster, presenter and host, appearing across international television and radio. He leads tastings for private clients, global brands and institutions including the Royal Household, and has developed educational content for WSET.
